Our gemmologists graduated with diploma in Gemmology (Gemology) from the Gemological Association of Great Britain and diploma of Certified Diamond Grader from HRDAntwerp Institute of Gemmology (Gemology). Have you toyed with ideas to start your own business? Are you a lover of gems? What if you can merge your interest in gems with doing business?

Being in the gems trade for a decade, we've come across many who are passionate in gems and are keen to explore starting out a business. However, people who are new to the industry find that it maybe hard to gain deeper insights unless they have the right connections.

As gemmologists, trainers and entrepreneurs, we would be glad to share our trade knowledge and experience! Our founders, Mr. Tay Kunming and his wife Ms. Loke Huiying set up The Gem Museum with a vision of it being the international platform to bridge the gemstone industry with the rest of the world.

The Gem Museum is part of the Far East Gem Group which includes: Far East Gems & Jewellery, Far East Gem Institute, Far East Gem Lab and The Gem Museum.

Mr. Tay Kunming is a certified gemmologist, diamond grader and gem dealer. Besides managing the Far East Gem Group, Mr. Tay is active in championing initiatives in the industry under his roles as Honorary Secretary of the Diamond Exchange of Singapore and the Assistant Honorary Secretary of The Jewellers' Association of Singapore.

About Ms. Loke Huiying

Ms. Loke Huiying is a certified trainer in gemology and has been training jewellery professionals and business owners since 2009. In early 2015, she personally curated about 1000 samples for The Gem Museum. Ms. Loke has appeared in various national TV programs sharing her knowledge on the value and authenticity of gemstones.

The Singapore Jewellery and Gem Fair (SJGF) 2017 is running its 5th year this October. There will be more than 150 exhibitors from 19 countries including Singapore, Thailand, India, USA, Malaysia, Myanmar and Hong Kong. 

We will be exhibiting with the Diamond Exchange of Singapore and showcasing beautiful diamonds and gemstones. 

During the fair, Mr. Tay Kunming, co-founder of The Gem Museum and the director of the Far East Gems Group will also be speaking on the 28th and 29th October at 5pm. He will be sharing his insights on two topics: "The Chameleon and other Phenomenal Gems" and "Fancy Coloured Diamonds - Beauty that comes with a price"

Another highlight of the exhibition features a special showcase themed “Shine Bright” by The Gem Museum, co-founded by Mr. Tay Kunming and Ms. Loke Huiying, the directors of Far East Gems & Jewellery.

 

In line with the Breast Cancer Awareness month, “Shine Bright” is a collaboration between the Gem Museum, Parkway Cancer Centre and Bloomback to raise awareness on breast cancer.

“Shine Bright” honours women who stand strong in face of life adversities and the beauty of their inner strength shine bright in the darkness, especially in fighting against breast cancer. 

This exhibit features 3 sets of lingerie: Pink Bloom, Glowing Gem and Blossoming Strength, specially designed with precious diamonds and gemstones, jointly created by The Gem Museum and Far East Gems & Jewellery.

Early detection of breast cancer can save lives.

As such, we stand together to support our partners in their efforts to promote breast cancer awareness.

From now until 15 November, Parkway Cancer Centre will sponsor 1 mammogram for marginalised women under the care of Bloomback for every 5 pink bell jars sold.
